Childhood Fitness and Nutrition Right Track - Decision Accelerator

Alegent staff joined with Our Healthy Community Partnership (OHCP) to coordinate a community based response to the childhood obesity epidemic. The two organizations co-sponsored a Decision Accelerator in December 2006.  During two days over 75 community constituents participated in passionate dialogue and strategic planning focused on what our Metropolitan Omaha area should and could do to impact the growing epidemic of childhood obesity over the next decade.

A Decision Accelerator is a rapid-decision making model that brings together key stakeholders in a space constructed expressly for the purpose of dialogue, decision making and planning. The accelerated decision making methodology has been used by some of America's most successful and fast moving companies, such as Hewlett Packard, Apple and Intel. It's proven to produce sound decisions rapidly through facilitated dialogue and collaboration, immediate access to research, real-time knowledge capture, action planning and consensus building.
